Back when I was just starting out, building my own home with my dad’s help and eagerly awaiting the growth of my family, I stumbled upon a revelation – building composite decks is one of the most enjoyable things to do! Little did I know that the demand for quality decks from fellow homeowners would take Green Shield, a 10-employee company, to 130+ dedicated team members in just 4 years.

People often ask me how we managed to grow so quickly. Well, besides having the most amazing customers (you know who you are!), I believe it’s because we like to keep things as simple as possible. We don’t hire external contractors (which helps maintain quality), we focus solely on building decks (lowering costs), and we source materials that are a cut above what the average builder can find.

We also believe in investing our time upfront with our customers, offering free deck inspections and designs to ensure they feel confident in their decisions. I’ve often heard that “Good work creates more work,” and that certainly is the case with Green Shield.
